Belting comes from the fifth octave (C5-B5). She hasn’t hit a decent C5 in a decade or more. The point is, if you’re going to be a singer, you need to know how to sing in tune. Britney performed “Everytime” live with the piano, and even then she was struggling to sing in tune in a simple range that an untrained voice has problems with. She wasn’t dancing there. In the studio there’s so much you can hide, not just pitch, but strain, thinning of the vocal cords, staying in tune etc.
