Lorde is just being a gross attention whore… End of story
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
I think the Disney spot is a giant soft spot in everyone’s heart, it feels
as though she kicked a sick puppy holding a newborn bunny in the middle of
a rainbow with two leprechauns crying next to each pot of gold at each end
of the rainbow. So basically, insulting Disney stars is not a mean thing to
do at all.

Lorde is 17, not 16. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her having
an opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. It’s people’s reactions to
her opinions that blow things way out of control. People need to lay off
and stop calling her out for being a normal human being, who isn’t blind to
the way in which these Disney stars have basically been handed their
careers on a plate.

Eh, I think her comment really wasn’t that big of a deal. How I interpreted
it was that she was just saying that she doesn’t have the excuse to say
she’s fucking mental because of her upbringing – which is an excuse that a
lot of Disney stars do have because they didn’t grow up “normal” and
outside of the spotlight. She wasn’t necessarily saying ALL of them ARE
mental or use that excuse, but rather that she may benefit a little because
she doesn’t have that as a safety net so has to stay on top of her shit a
bit more than someone with that excuse in their deck.
Just my two cents though – this is a teenager so every single word she says
shouldn’t be taken with the utmost severity or be expected to have
underlying deep messages/burns regardless.

Kia Ora from NZ here:
Firstly, I think the lack of PR knowledge is bullshit because she has been
under the care of her music label for a while now I’m sure they had some
time for a PR class.
BUT! I think Americans making mention that their kids would not speak that
way about their peers is really lacking the understanding of the
Kiwi-American cultural differences. We here tend to carry ‘Tall-Poppy
Syndrome’ so it is very common to be self-deprecating and to see others in
the same way… so we are likely to attempt to cut others down to size with
the kind of language that Lorde is using.

Personally,I think her words KEEP getting twisted…when she doesn’t mean
it in that way OR she should just keep quiet cause they’re always going to
be people trying to make her look bad, she’s not an attention whore
btw, cause people are asking her questions & she’s answering them, its not
like she goes on twitter and posts stuff like Amanda Bynes lol

All Lorde is doing is being honest. Everything she’s said has been right.
Everyone criticizing her is taking her comments out of context and then
talking about how “it isn’t fair to generalize people” when she’s not. The
context shows that, so people need to stop being dishonest about Lorde’s
comments because they like the artists she’s talking about. All people
defending her have been using fallacies and insults instead of addressing
it without bias.

I have nothing against Lorde ’cause GQ magazine is just trying to create
controversy to get more readers which means more money.

#teamlorde she says the truth. end of

Anyone a bit creeped out about Samantha’s shoulders? That little bone

November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
who the hell is lorde?
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
I would love to see all of them try to handle fame at the age of 17 when
you come from a nation of 4.5 million people.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
I think Lorde has a great mind, and great ideals. But she’s also just
freshly 17. Things are going to come off as offensive, and as she gets
older these thoughts she has are going to have both a better background of
knowledge, and be better composed.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Miley grinds up a married man and its not rude..but Lorde states the truth
and she’s an attention whore? LMFAO oh pop culture! XD
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Well if she was talking about Disney nightmares, she’s kinda right. The
question wasn’t about people from Disney who aren’t nightmares. Poptrigger
fail.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Lorde kind of needs to stop, she claims to be a feminist, and yet she is
constantly attacking other women.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
What is wrong with that bitch dissing other people like who gives a fuck
that ur song is #1 doesn’t give u right to talk shit bout the other people
and there is no room for u to talk
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
no offence but i dont like taylor i agree on lorde what she said about her
and selena but COME ON!! really? britney and miley cyrus.. specially miley
who defended u when some of here fans insulted u like no.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
I love poptrigger BUT this felt like the LA media circle judging someone
who is basically normal like the viewers…
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Lorde has said before that she likes what miley is doing and thinks she’s
badass….so i doubt she’s talking about miley….what didn’t she say? oh
that selena was an antifeminist.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
But, the disney stars who get the most attention are fucking mental. Plus,
Lorde is more talented then a lot of them, who just got a record deal
because they could kind of act on a show for kids. *cough* Selena Gomez
*cough*
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Lorde is a one hit wonder from what I’ve heard (never heard any of her
stuff), we’ll see how her career pans out before she can judge others.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
The question did specify “Disney Nightmares” not all Disney stars. So I’m
guessing what springs to mind are people who have had public meltdowns like
Brittney Spears or Amanda Bynes, in which case the comment would seem
appropriate.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Isn’t that Lorde girl only like sixteen? How can she say that she “grew up
normally”?
She’s interviewing on a magazine and having things like this made about her
and she’s ONLY SIXTEEN, she’s still growing up.
November 8th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
If you’re a singer-songwriter, you’re already a step above the likes of a
Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus and you should have the right to call them
out. They have an entire management team buying their songs and creating
their image for them. Lorde should concentrate her criticism more to the
manufactured pop industry rather then the individual singers though, that’s
the real issue, not the artists. Disney are a media empire who’ve created
this business out of picking good looking teenage kids (musically talented
or not, who cares) and turning them into pop stars. Unfortunately it’s
always going to be their crap music we hear on our radios because Disney
have payed off the radio stations to play it. The problem is really
talented musicians have an uphill battle to have their music even heard
because of it.
