I don’t want to start the senseless fight between THE BEATLES and Barret Strong and which version is better , but the version of
Barret Strong is really excellent and fascinating for 1959 !
It’s always the original version.
Nevertheless THE BEATLES did also an excellent new version and made this song more popular .
Don’t forget:
Doubtful politicians and plans of the background forces-NWO- are not a pleasure for us.

You know, it’s sort of a shame that these early black singers were often not respected enough. Just wanted somebody to think about that.

Thanks for posting this video — Barrett Strong’s got a lot of soul.
But for my money, the Beatles’ recording simply blows this one away. Lennon starts the song with fervor and brings it to a climax of desperation and anger, and the Beatles support him instrumentally and especially with the background vocals.
Compare that to the chirpy background singers on this recording, and the instrumental riff that’s good but monotonous and never goes anywhere, and eventually just fades away . . .

I like both this and the Flying Lizards version.

What is also the truth is that the Beatles’ version way better.
