There’s no doubt by watching this clip that she is incredibly capable of outstanding vocals – like Aguilera. However, like TokyoAkiHara said, we would rather listen to her voice how it is because A. that’s Britney, and B. because in conjunction with the lyrics it corresponds and its addictive. And from her perspective, she sells more than nearly all artists with this voice. I think it would be nice as she gets older, to hear the “raspy” voice and some raw powerful vocals. You CAN do it Britney!

As soon as she writes some of her own songs and perhaps delivers a “better” more powerful voice (a fragment of what we can see that she is capable of), her sales dropped – they will still huge, but not as great as the previous albums. I reckon that with practice, she probably could acquire the voice that we watched here in this clip, something like Aguilera – but it would just take quite a bit of re-training to re-structure her acoustics and get rid of this “raspy” thing (that we all like).

From what I’ve seen and read, right from the outset on her first album …Baby One More Time and even more so on Oops I Did It Again, Britney’s lyricist Max Martin wanted to change her voice so it sounds more sexy. He said when they pushed for the mid-nasal tone, her voice “became sort of raspy and sexy”. Combining this type of voice and catchy lyrics, her songs were record-breakers. However Britney said that they were “great songs, but I didn’t get to show my voice off” – the voice in this clip

judging from the evolution of her technique, it seems she was a little girl with a lot of potential and no real vocal training. Considering all the creative control went to the pop music machine that made her a star, I am assuming they focused her more on looking cute, being personable, and dancing a lot. Her voice was bound to fall through the cracks. I’m not biased though, the girl can at least dance, even though we haven’t seen her do much of that lately either

It’s all cause of public image, back in those days punk rock music wasnt as popular as now and as a kid she could sing like that and people loved her.
Nowadays, if she sang like that, no one will listen to her music. Singers have to follow the publics trend, if the next big thing is goth metal, then she would have to change her style a lil to follow-up.
Singers these days have no freedom, they are supressed by their managers and dominated by the public.

Remember when Britney was in her “baby one more time” days. When she was “stronger”?. When the “boys” were all over her getting her in ”trouble”. Making her say “Oops.. i did it again!” As she had you as a “slave 4 her” an her music. She was a princess like “cinderella”. As her “toxic” days became over. And her “blackout” began. She asked if you want a “piece of me” and asked for one thing. “gimme more” If you love Britney and know she`ll come back. copy and paste on more Brit vids. ♥♥♥

Now days you can hardly here her voice for all of the sound processing and effects. Look at her latest video she is nude and her voice is so processed. Maybe she really can’t sing any more.
