If she keeps frying herï»¿ voice she’s not going to last much longer, bless her heart. She can match pitch and has excellent expression. The clip of her as a child is really telling; depressing the larynx, essentially yelling instead of singing. Children can do this because they are so resilient; in adults this causes real problems — breathiness, loss of range. She makes up for it with the melismas — same thing Aguilera did when she blew the high note in the Nat’l Anthem at the World Series.

i wish she would haveï»¿ just kept singing with her real voice over the years, because i like it a lot more and her voice would have just gotten better the more she used it. It kinda pisses me off when she doesn’t sing live because she actually has a nice voice
