I know what you mean, and I know that a lot of people share your opinion. Just remember (or realize) that the way mainstream media- and just some people in general whose opinions are being heard more than others’- perceive certain things can manipulate the way everybody else sees and thinks of these things a LOT. However that doesn’t make that way of looking at those things (or persons) any more true or even justify them.

You’re running in circles and not making a lot of sense, you’re looking at things the wrong way imo.
Don’t use the term “art” like that. It’s virtually impossible to define this at all I believe, but ANYTHING that touches people emotionally, gets in their head or mind or inspires them, by default is ART, regardless if you personally like it or even regard it as such or not.
“Something real”? What is “real”? You’re using big words, but only use them in the way you want to understand them. Dude…

i dont find this art because it all sounds the fucking same. kesha makes it seem like love is found when ur either bent over, or looking at the bottem of an alcohol bottle. and i dont think of them as role modles in anyway because if people are escaping to lyrics that are about drinking, drugs, and sex. they are missing the point as to what art is. i can write a song about that np. it takes a unique mind to create and write about something real, something that pop artist fail on so many levels.

Btw, you’re saying “party songs” like it’s a bad thing and automatically makes it worthless. Pop music is about being fun, upbeat and positive about life. It doesn’t have to be deep or give a commentary on society or anything like that. It has to be pleasing to the ear and a troubled mind that is seeking escapism.
Take it for what it is or choose to ignore it, whining about it won’t help or make it go away.

So you at least realize she has songs different from that stereotype cliché too.
You should probably listen to the song that was actually the title track of her album, “Animal”. You might not like the pop production (clearly that’s a matter of taste), but the lyrics are actually fantastic imo and send a great message when you put some thought into it.
She can do a lot better than “zip your lip like a padlock” when she wants to. However that’s not what pop music is about.

just about all of the mainstream ones, although iam aware that some of her “songs” are about “love” which i found very funny considering the reputation she worked on being a drunkin girl, how can we take her seriously after all of those “party” songs that she put out there? also just so ya know, the song “Take it off” is both a rip off and a copy of an old traditional song, sung by kids in kindergarden (and other places im sure). also it is not just her songs, its her ability to preform on stage

She glorifies stupidity; all her songs are either about getting wasted or about her ego. Her lyrics aren’t deep, there just repetitive and dumb as fuck . I mean come on “zip your lip, like a padlock” padlocks don’t zip dumb fuck. Not to mention that if you see her live performances she sounds so awful. Just a part of most female singers who “sing” about drugs, sex, money, parties, and themselves and have the nerve to call themselves “role models”. She’s in this for the fame, not for the art.
