Britney Spears ‘X Factor’ Reunion with Former Duet Partner Don Philip

Britney Spears has a tearful reunion with former duet partner at the ‘X Factor’ auditions in San Francisco! Welcome back to ClevverMusic. ‘X Factor’ Season 2 auditions are under way, and over the weekend the 4 judges stopped in San Francisco to find some new talent. During one audition, new judge Britney Spears was confronted with a duet partner from her debut album, 1999′s Baby One More Time. Don Philip, who sang with Britney on her track “I Will Still Love You” showed up to audition and Britney got emotional. She told fellow judges as soon as he hit the stage, “I know him… We did a duet together 10 years ago.” Recognizing him immediately. Britney got even more emotional when Don revealed to the judges and the audience, “I’m gay.” He continued, “At the time I didn’t think I was worth… I didn’t think you thought it was OK that I am gay.” Britney was quick to say that she was A OK with it. No official word yet on whether or not he made it through the audition round, but we can’t help but relate this to Tony Lucca’s reunion with Christina Aguilera on NBC’s The Voice. The Voice was Tony’s career boost that he needed- so Don probably thinks this will do the same for him. Don never quite reached superstar status like Brit, the once Jive Record artist, who sang backup for Gloria Estefan.
