Hate to break the bad news, but I’m sure Carly chose this song. She talked about it in an interview in September.

She also cites Etta James as an influence, especially since Flo Rida sampled James’s “Something’s Got a Hold on Me”ï»¿ in the current hit “Good Feeling.” “Nobody my age would ever have listened to that song if it wasn’t put into a Top 40 song,” said Carly. “That shows old classics can be put into songs kids my age like.”

She;s fantastic, but overall with ALL the performances, theyve turned these exciting performers ito a garish freakshow. Bad makeovers, too much with the showy dancer crap, off song choices, sending the wrong people home, horrible arrangements, etc. It’s like a train wreck. The auditions were SO much entertaining without all that flash that wears soï»¿ thin.

Iï»¿ think Britney tried to style her for an audience her own age not realizing, like Jackie Evancho before her, adults want to buy her albums if the judges will just leave her alone and let her make her own choices. She chose her audition song, remember? She knows better than anyone what she’s doing.

I’m done with Idol. I won’t watch it while they have that disgusting freakshow, Nicki Minaj, on there. Besides, the whole show is a complete crock, because no matter what, no matter how bad he is, the ‘cute boy’ will always win. I seriously hope Idol bombs this coming season, so that the producers will finally realize that something needs to change. X Factor has a betterï»¿ contestant-selecting process. It decreases the chance of a ‘cute boy’ winning.

“Question: I know you can’t reveal what songs you’ll be singing, but are you getting a say in what you sing?

Carly: “Sometimes yes and sometimes no!”"

WTF!?!?!?! Not giving CRS a say in her song choice is like refusing Jimmy Hendrix a guitar.

I believe that Carly was not pleased to do it, yet capable of pulling off a poor performance, for the sake of the show and to heighten the chances forï»¿ the other contestants. But her voice is undeniable and her stage presence is awesome. She is that selfless and absolutely Brilliant as an artist.
