You’re not alone. But not all of those millions have been there since the beginning. I talked with people who fell in loveï»¿ with her when she released “Blackout” and others who discovered her in the “Circus” era. I understand that if you’re into that kind of pop she made at the beginning, you may not like what she’s been doing for the past 10 years, but the fact that musically she’s constantly evolving is one of the things I like the most about her and artists in general.

The “millions” that love her are theï»¿ result of her teen pop breakthrough. I honestly thought she was good back then, but the minute she put out that fourth album… she lost me, and hasn’t gotten me back since. I’m certain that I’m not alone here.

Too bad that talented little girl lost the round. But she’s gone on to become even more talented, to sell 100 million albums and 100 million singles, to win some 300 awards (including the most prestigious and elitarian ones), to release #1 albums, to do sold-out world tours, to give the most stunning performances in music business, toï»¿ become a music legend, an icon and the ultimate queen of pop. I guess she’s put that show well behind her.

No, she’s much much better now. Back then she sang like anyï»¿ talent show contestant and any big-voiced diva. Back then she was like any other wannabe. Now she has a unique voice, a unique vocal style, music that is groundbreaking, a commanding stage presence, the status of legend. That explains the unparalleled success, the praise of the harshest critics and the love of millions.
