To clear it up for the haters: This performance was originally sung live, then dubbed for television by ABC. Not at Britney’s request. You can hear her singing live over the top (‘warniiiing’). Her live voice is differentï»¿ and much deeper and not as breathy/sexy as her studio voice. End of.

Geh. Whether Britney can actually sing is unknown to me. I do like what is recorded but there really isn’t any proof that she can actually sing like that because she lip-syncs in concert. And don’t get all annoyed at me now, she has admitted to it before. It’s because she’s a dancer and as a stage performer myself I doï»¿ know that you have to choose- singing really well or dancing really well. I just personally would rather put my money to use on a band that is ACTUALLY singing.
